It all started when…
Dizzy Monk Entertainment is an independent and artist-led entertainment label that was officially started in 2015 by TopGogg. The hiphop record label is based in Johannesburg, South Africa and represents artists, including Ginger Trill, TopGogg, Benlay and D(US)T.
Dizzy Monk is also a co-creative and collaborative initiative eagerly participating in South African, African and Global culture through various mediums.
Dizzy Monk Studios, based at Work Central, the professionally sound-proofed studio is a creative haven in a co-working office block with meeting rooms and lunching areas.
At highly competitive rates DM also provides recording, engineering and consultation services.
Dizzy Monk events are always an exciting collaboration of artists that promotes the industry. Dizzy Monk has hosted its event Sanctuary in Durban, Cape Town and Jozi, bringing together some of the country’s favourite local talent.
Dizzy Monk Fashion has been officially launched with an Autumn/Winter line captured by Mooki Mooks and is now available online.
Dizzy Monk Artists are passionate and often embrace visionary approaches to showcasing their diverse projects. Dizzy Monks has many creative projects in the works.
The Monks
TopGogg
TopGogg is a rapper, producer, and founder of Dizzy Monk Entertainment pty ltd. When TopGogg isn't making or lacing on beats, you can usually find him running the label or geeking out to TV games surrounded by puffs of smoke.
Despite regularly recording music, TopGogg has released only a few tracks, including All White Party and Cash Bag Swag. His recent EP, Tales of The High ‘n Mighty with Ginger Trill is his first full project on the market and is set to be shortly followed by his solo album.

Ginger Trill
Born Tshegofatso Seroalo and formerly known as Gingerbreadman, Ginger Trill is a staple in the South African hip hop music scene. Making his mark as SA’s first ever rapper to be verified on Twitter, Ginger Trill has been accepted by the industry and culture as one of the country’s best lyricists, and has served as an authority in hiphop on radio shows like YFM and TV shows like Shizniz. Ginger has worked with artists, like Proverb, Kid X, Tumi, Riky Rick and Reason to name a few.
In 2018, Ginger Trill won Slikour’s Verse of the Year Award and received two nominations at the SAHHAwards, including for Lyricist of the year and for a feature on the Remix of the Year. 2018 also saw Ginger join forces with Dizzy Monks leading to the release of the joint EP, Tales of the High ‘n Mighty with TopGogg in 2019.
Ginger is also set to release solo works this year.

Dust
Dust is a multi-skilled artist bringing the gifts of illustration and song to the Dizzy Monk label. Dust infuses a hiphop soul flavour with any beat he touches and is often a welcome addition on Dizzy Monk rap tracks, adding his own bars and melodies.
Dust has also started his own design company, Spiral Head Studios and designs some of Dizzy Monks flyers and promotional content. Look out for Dusts project …. Coming out in 2020.
Benlay
Fusion hiphop prodigy. Young. Hailing from KwaZulu Natal. Talent and drive to go mainstream, with a new age sound often leaning towards trap, rapping in vernac. Look out for Single ‘Sthabile’ with Slam Eazzy.

DM is an artist-led entertainment label, meaning that the team has no aversion to having fun and trying new ideas. All this in the highly professional environment of Work Central and with almost a decade of DM studios being operational, you can expect high quality outputs and determined professionalism.

Dizzy Monk Studios is professionally soundproofed and kitted out with Protools 12 and an iMac, KRK RKT 8 Monitors, a Focusrite pre-amp, a Universal Appollo mk2 audio interface and an Aston Microphone.
